The course
piazza is
intended to provide a platform for students to
seek help from and provide support for their peers. Participation on
Piazza—including asking good questions and/or answering other
students' questions—may be considered under "participation" in
determining your final course grade.
Piazza is not a replacement for office hours or mentor
hours. The course
staff will moderate the Piazza page, but they will not answer
questions unless a question remains unanswered for more than 24
hours. Please plan accordingly.
Recommended: Bryant and O’Halloran, Computer Systems: A Programmer’s Perspective, third edition, Pearson, 2016
I don't like requiring textbooks, but this book is very well written and covers most of the material I cover in this course. I strongly recommend making sure you have access to a copy. There on copies on reserve through the Claremont Colleges Library. You can also rent or buy a copy from Amazon. Unfortunately, the second edition and the internation (paperback) edition are not good substitutes.
Recommended readings will be listed on the course schedule.
All assignments should be submitted on submit.cs.
Grades will be posted on Gradescope.
